Easiest installation

Other reviews confuse me. Everything is aluminum except for the thumb button, so I don't know why anyone would say it's mostly plastic. Someone said that you can get a better product at half the price at Walmart, but they were wrong because the cheapest at Walmart was almost twice as much as this one. Luckily this was an exact replacement for the broken handle on my screen door. I bought my house ten years ago so the old one lasted at least ten years as I don't know how long it was installed before I bought the house. Installation literally took less than ten minutes, including removing the old handle. This involved removing two screws, throwing away the old handle, gluing the new handle to the door, making sure the spring on the knob shaft is in the correct position, tightening the two screws and discarding the remaining unnecessary parts. It comes with two pairs of screws of different lengths to fix doors of different thicknesses. I didn't even bother to replace the small piece that attaches to the door frame for the handle to snap into place. If you have a thin screen door you may need to trim the shank on the thumb button, but that should be easy since it's the only piece of plastic. Maybe that's why it's plastic. (I recently had to shorten a steel rod on a doorknob and THAT was PITA.) It was the perfect replacement for my application. Being exactly the same as the previous pen, I expect it to last at least ten years.
