I was familiar with your old product. I've used friends a few times and I liked it so I bought it. At the same time, they changed the design and made it cheaper in quality. The old design was brushed aluminum with very comfortable grips. The new design is a painted flat aluminum rod. I placed a level on the table saw table to calibrate it. I noticed a gap below the level. The frame plane was not flush. The reason for this is that there was a small ledge at the end of the level which caused the level not to lay flat. I called their customer service and they were friendly. However, I would have to pay shipping to send it back and then pay a shipping and handling fee to have it shipped back to me. I think they should pay for their mistake, not me.
