I often use self-filling loose tea bags. I used to have some from the local Japanese market. Then came a study on microplastics and tea bags. I did a burn test on the ones I had and they formed the classic "melt plastic" droplets. Yes. So I bought her. They feel like cotton and do not spread when burned. They're strong enough for repeated brewing, but light enough to throw away with no regrets. The drawstring actually closes it pretty well so I don't get random leaves in my tee (helps if you tie it in a half knot instead of the top). This is how I now avoid microplastics in my tea and thus the environment.
