Surprisingly good hob

This is a great choice for the price. Actually better than the twice as expensive. We use 2 months. It cleans easily. Grids are heavy! with heat-resistant rubber feet to ensure they always sit properly (flat) on the hob and install easily on scratched countertops. The only problem others have had is that one burner doesn't ignite well. No matter what you do, it sparkles normally, the gas flows, but it doesn't ignite. We're investigating a solution. We've found that the chrome-plated aluminum burner ring tends to darken when hot oil is applied to it during use. A bit of lube and a good polish on the chrome will fix this in a few minutes. The variety of burner outputs is very practical. We chose this configuration because others have told us that the position with the burner in the middle makes it difficult for others to use while in use. We can put a big pot on a big stove and use the rest. And this big burner can cook fast! Yes, the stainless steel plate is thinner metal than others. No problem after installation. The overall depth of the cabinet is just what we needed for the drawer under the hob. So far, so good. Update: July 2018 The device performed well. We discard the grates (well, lift them carefully. They're meaty) and pop them in the dishwasher to clean. No redness or rust yet. We have the same burner ignition problems as others. The solution is counterintuitive. Set the burner to the lowest setting during ignition and it works perfectly every time. Flame sensors are not as sensitive as we would like. If you do not hold the handle in the starting position within 15 seconds after it lights up, the flame will go out. At some point in the future, replacing with higher quality flame detectors may fix this. This is insignificant in relation to things. Cleaning was easy. Remove the grates and burner assemblies, pull the handles and you have an easy to access cleaning area. We use Windex and a sponge, wipe with warm water and a towel. Sometimes I use a stainless steel cleaner and polish. Still looks great after a year of use. Note that we learned not to use the cleaning side of the sponge. The two biggest issues with the unit are that the stainless steel finish is easily scratched and the aluminum burner rings are now black. DO NOT scrub the stainless steel surface with the rough side of the sponge to remove grease or other things. This will permanently scratch the surface. This tells me that this is not the best stainless metal. The burner rings appear to be cast aluminum. Any fat that gets on it will burn off, leaving black marks on the ring. This is poor use of materials on your part. I'll put a heavy coat on them and that will solve the problem. All the burners work great and the big pot of water boils really fast. I brew beer and this boils hot tap water twice as fast with one of the other burners or stoves we had. Monster BTU Output. 5 burner stoves are always narrow if they are less than 36 inches wide. However, because a large center burner is NOT included, this cooktop is more convenient to use with a multi-pulse rack and pots running at the same time.
