First of all - any review that doesn't understand that a spline bit is 5 inches that isn't used means the person doesn't understand spline or SDS Max bits. (This is what they look like - all of them!) I used a 1 9/16" Bosch slotted bit with this bit and it cut through rock with ease. I was able to consistently drill 5 5" deep holes without overheating the bit - three times in an hour. Remember to brush off the dust from time to time to keep the drill bit from snagging - as you should with any drill bit. As I've seen in tool boxes, I find that Bosch bits excel in both speed as well as superior in durability to DeWalt.
