Review on 🚲 BV 4-Bike Bicycle Hitch Mount Rack Carrier - Tray Style Smart Tilting Design for Car, Truck, SUV (4-Bike Carrier) by Marcus Rash

Durable, versatile and affordable

This bike rack has turned out great. It requires full assembly from the front (which would be difficult without a linkage kit), but it also means you can use it as a full 4 bike bike rack or as a 2 bike bike rack if you don't fully assemble it. That flexibility was great and I use it all the time. I'm leaving the front half and back half built separately, just not connected. If you need to load a 3rd or 4th bike, simply bolt the two halves together and you're good to go. A full 4 bike rack is VERY heavy which speaks for its strength but also makes it unwieldy. I found the split into 2 parts made it easier to get in and out of the car and much easier to hang on the garage wall. It has an anti-swivel feature activated by tightening a screw through a hole in the mount. clutch (again, a socket wrench makes this much easier) making it very durable. If I pull it all the way down I can't move the post at all without moving the entire machine. I transported 2 bikes on a 6 hour round trip with no problems. The bolt also has a hole at the end for a padlock if you plan to leave the stand on for long periods of time or take it with you on a trip. Easy to fold and unfold, this is a very convenient feature. It's not as sleek as the branded shelf, but it's also half the price, so for me it's worth it. Finally, the levers that lock the bike in place feel sturdy and seem to last a long time. My bike has a straight crossbar on the frame and my wife has a slanted one and they are great for both. It does have tire belts, but I see them more as security than anything else. I've intentionally left them out of the seatbelt on my last few local rides and haven't noticed a difference. The only thing I would like is a way to lock bikes to the rack itself, but I can buy a long bike lock and thread it through. through all the bikes on the rack + the rack itself to get something working. Again not as slick as branded shelves but worth the money saved for me. Overall I would recommend this shelf to anyone looking for it.
