Until this year I always had 4WD cars. So I bought them just in case. I just put them in my truck and what do you know? When I was at work, there was an ice storm. When I got out onto the street, there was ice. My Ford 150 behaved quite well, as did many other cars and trucks, including 4WD, got into the ditch and there were accidents everywhere. But a mile from my house my luck ran out. There was a very big hill and it seemed impossible to climb it. I got stuck halfway up and couldn't move forward or backward! I could only walk sideways towards the large moat. Walking out to tighten the cables was literally like ice skating. I had to hold on to the truck to move and got stuck in the middle of the road. I lay cables. I had no idea what would happen next. Will they work? will they stay who knew What happened? I just left Went up the hill, drove down the next one, pulled up at a stop sign at the bottom of a steep descent and pulled into the driveway. Simply that way. Wonderful! I will repeat what others have said: read the instructions. Try to wear them when you are not in an emergency. Get something for your knees. Good product!
