I was looking for a universal remote to replace my Apple remote - cute yes, but awful with DirecTV Now. I always accidentally touched the touchpad and changed channels, didn't clean properly and opened another menu, it was difficult to browse the old school channels. I also wanted to control the other four devices. TV, stereo, TiVo and a digital HDMI switch that connects all old and new devices together. Everything just got easier with this remote control! Preprogrammed for AppleTV 4, looked for codes for my 17 year old JVC, 10 year old Vizio and TiVo. But what to do with this HDMI switch? Well, this remote control has made this task easy with its remote learning feature. I went with the TV preset and used three buttons that I will never use for these HDMI remote buttons. Success, five devices on a remote control of 4 devices! It's easy to maneuver with all the benefits of Apple TV and DirectTV Now without having to switch phantom channels etc. The learning feature allows me to program the remote to turn on the buttons on older remotes, even when the pre-programmed codes actually work and aren't complete. .All of this alone makes the remote a great buy for me, but the backlight makes it even more amazing at this price!
