We bought these ring clips for our living room and have never used this type of attachment. The original curtains that came with our home were very high quality, but they were also fifty years old. I haven't thought about how these clips sound every morning and evening as we open and close our new curtains on new curtain rods. It's not bad, but I (almost) miss the ugly old curtains that silently opened. Most ring cuffs are easy to open. From every pack we bought there was one or two that seemed to be clamped too tight. Although they all worked for us. After using them for a few months only one ring slipped off the hook and I don't even know how it happened because they are well made. We bought several sets and think the price is great.
