My house is a grave yard for stud finders. Over the years I have bought all sorts of stud finders.cheap ones to expensive ones. Thus far I have not found any that have been accurate & durable enough to use on a consistent basis. They have all ended up in a junk drawer for purchases that are not really broken but none the less, not worth a damn. The Franklin ProSensor 710 was perhaps the most accurate of the bunch, but it worked for only about a year under light usage. At its price, it was cost prohibitive to purchase another one only to have it last for just a brief period of time.Enter the Vivreal stud finder that I received today. I had just finished a project which required me to locate a stud in the wall, so I knew exactly where the stud was located. I read the instructions & immediately placed a battery into the compartment. I tried it on the wall & was pleasantly surprised that It found the center of the stud on its first pass. It seems to be accurate for this function. Just remember that the unit has to be held vertically on the wall for it to function properly.I will update my review & rating as time passes & as I am able to utilize all of its functions. I would like to also evaluate whether this product will stand the test of time. I am a weekend DIY'er, so I expect this product to last a number of years, unlike the Franklin ProSensor. Also the information provided on the ebay description screen needs to be corrected. It says "Batteries Required? No". Product is manufactured in China. As it currently stands, I would recommend this product.There is a card enclosed in the box offering the purchaser a FREE Multilaser Laser Level if you provide a product review. Also listed on the card is a "Disclaimer: This promotion is at the manufacturer's discretion." Don't be fooled. It appears that this is just a teaser to get you to provide a good review & they have really no intention of sending you the FREE product. I will also update if this situation changes.
