NOT Orbital Buffer/Polisher

Otherwise normal product automatically gets 3 stars because the description advertises it as "Orbital Car Buffer Polisher" which is not really true. This is a fixed axis buffer; it doesn't "spin" around. The head on the orbital buffer not only rotates, but also "oscillatesโ€ during operation. This is very important to avoid fire or surface wear if the buffer is left in place for too long. I would never use this bumper on any vehicle except for body work. Still, I prefer the random orbit sander/buffer. The set contains many items. Next to the buffer there are two handles that can be attached. Center handle and side handle. The center handle can be adjusted conveniently, and the side handle can be installed on both sides of the buffer. Two handles cannot be attached at the same time. The kit includes a handy carrying case, as well as plenty of sponge wheels, buffing pads and five discs of 1200 grit sandpaper. An interesting addition are the replacement motor brushes, which are the internal components that conduct electricity in the motor. My guess is that they either wear out quickly, or the manufacturer just generously includes them for years to come as they wear out. The buffer works when the trigger is pulled. There is a trigger lock that allows the device to be operated without holding the trigger. There is a speed slider ranging from 1 to 7, with 7 being the highest speed. Speed 1 setting is useless. The buffer rotates so slowly that I can stop it with my hand. Any pressure will keep it from spinning. Is it a big deal? Not at all. There's still a wide range of speed settings to choose from. The buffer is quite noisy. I definitely recommend using hearing protection.
