I think it will work for *something*. I just don't know what exactly. I bought a Bora NGX 50" clamp and saw guide to use as an inexpensive chainsaw so I could cut 4x8 panels in the yard into 4x4 sections that would fit in a van. This combo works damn well. The great thing about the NGX clamp is that it can be adjusted from the side of the clamp instead of the opposite side like the previous version, which required me to walk back and forth from one side of the plate to the other. I figured adding a T-square would allow me to put the notch on one side, install the clamp, and I'd be good to go. Not right! Problems I've encountered: 1) If the clamp isn't secured in the CENTER of the T-square, it's difficult to ensure the T-square is fully engaged on the other side (to my chagrin, I have the T- Square also found easy NOT to align when most of it is sticking out on one side 2) THINK the T-square was aligned on the other side of the board gave me a false sense of security. I cut a good 1 inch off one side of the line on the other end. It might be something I can work around, or it might send me back for the other half of the panel. Time will tell.) Moral: you MUST mark both sides of the record and position the clip in relation to those marks. So a T-square for this purpose will not buy you anything. 3) If you're using it as a track saw, you obviously WANT the T-square to be offset, so there is 4) I thought I could use the edge of the T-square as a guide to easily adjust that edge of the clamp. Wrong again! 5) The edge of the aluminum tee has a plastic part that protrudes beyond the aluminum profile. That in itself is not scary. But because of the way the tee attaches to the clamp, that edge is a good 3/4 inch long. or so from the edge of the board, making it difficult to align. 6) An even bigger problem is that it's not possible to line up the T-square exactly with the edge of the saw. Blade as the locking mechanism needs to be pulled up to release the joint which means you CANNOT hold the saw guide and saw until the joint is loose enough to slide. You must choose one. You can either adjust the position of the T-square or put a saw on it. You cannot do both. 7) Finally, I realize that the first time I used it, I didn't put the edge bar on the NGX clamp. Big mistake! You don't actually need it to pull off, but you do need it to align the clamp with your marks. It's just very difficult to align the clamp with the saw to properly adjust and clamp both sides if you've done it right.
