This is a pretty decent cable that I use for my snaps. I bought two and only use them for hiking. Otherwise they are stored in my garage. I suspect that if you leave them outside all the time they will eventually break. My only concern is that if your dog accidentally hits you with it, this cord WILL BLOW. I don't just tie my dogs up and leave them outside, so I'm always there when they're hooked up to these cords. If they walk around my legs or pull a cable to my bare skin, it looks like someone is ripping the skin off my body. However, if you know you need to stay away from cords when your dog is running, they work great.
