Review on SHIMANO Claris R2030 8Spd Triple Front Derailleur Adapter: 34.9mm, Compatible with 31.8/28.6 Frames by Matthew Bahri

I used this derailleur on an old 1985 Schwinn High Sierra 7x3 mountain bike to shift chainrings with Shimano RSX road brake/shift levers. I needed this to adjust the derailleur cable pull ratio; Road and mountain bike derailleur systems don't have the same cable tension ratio, and I had to adjust that ratio since my shifters only shifted by index. This worked great for what I wanted. My only downside is that I had to use the spacer that came with the mounting clip to install the derailleur to my frame. I don't like using shims to adjust things, but at least the shims are designed to snap and come with the derailleur. There's also no fine adjustment like a cable tensioner, so I added Jagwire's built-in cable tensioner to the front shift cable, making front shifter setup much easier.
