Good replacement for your old triple derailleur

the original couldn't be salvaged. It was a simple and effective replacement. The price was good, less than expected and it did a better job than what it replaced. Installation was easy and the inclusion of 3 sets of washers for 3 seat tube diameters made it an easy task for me. Shifting is solid, but action is probably harsh if you're used to doubling. Will hold my 50t chain but I think that's the upper limit.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

This derailleur is much better designed than SORA. Sora broke the spring tab on two different wheels. It's hard or impossible to find Sora, but that's okay because I don't want one like that ever again. It seems to work better in both 8/3 gear and 7/3 gear. It has a fairly wide cage. So if you have micro adjustment or "1/2 step" levers you can adjust each cage contact. This one doesn't have an opening cage, so you'll have to break the chain to put it on.

Pros
  • good stuff

The broken part is suitable for cycling

I installed the derailleur and everything worked from day one. Then for some reason it started slipping off the frame, very slightly at first when I shifted to the big chainring and soon it started rubbing against the chainring. I could understand. I installed everything correctly, but now there is a problem. I took it to the shop and the mechanic pointed out that the spacers securing the derailleur to the frame were the wrong size(!). Discouraged, I went home with visions of new switches…

Fits and works. fits derailleur

I used this derailleur on an old 1985 Schwinn High Sierra 7x3 mountain bike to shift chainrings with Shimano RSX road brake/shift levers. I needed this to adjust the derailleur cable pull ratio; Road and mountain bike derailleur systems don't have the same cable tension ratio, and I had to adjust that ratio since my shifters only shifted by index. This worked great for what I wanted. My only downside is that I had to use the spacer that came with the mounting clip to install the derailleur to…
