This recorder is very easy to use. I recommend this voice recorder to my students for lectures, but I have found that someone who has never used it can get confused and only want to use it at a beginner level, so here is my "Easy 101" way to do it How to use: 1. Just turn it on by sliding the slide button on the left2. Press the red "REC" button to start recording3. When you've recorded what you like, press the square "STOP" button. Now you can safely turn it off after pressing the "Stop" button without losing any information (otherwise there is no "Save" button).4. To turn off the recorder, follow the same procedure as when turning it on (again, no information is lost when you turn it off). To listen to your recording, simply press the center triangle OK button. Fast forward/backward while holding down the l<< >>l buttons in the center. These buttons also toggle between multiple recordings when the recorder is not playing, allowing you to select a recording to listen to as well. The + and - buttons are responsible for the volume. The yellow "DELETE" button speaks for itself. -------------------------------- If you say. at school and want to organize your recordings by "classes", just press the "FOLDER INDEX" button and you will see the recorder scroll through folders A, B, C, D and E (you can use these Feel free to use this button - you'll never stay like the 'simple' recording screen you see when you turn on the recorder, unless you hit the menu/scene calendar buttons). You can record in the same way as above, with the only difference that if you never press the FOLDER INDEX button you will always be in folder A. No big deal. Just remember which folder you're recording in (the folder picture with the letters A, B, C, D, or E will appear on the screen to let you know which folder you're in). when you go through them so that you don't forget later and don't worry that you've lost your job. --------------------- --------------------------- If you are having trouble downloading the recording to your computer and not all options to save/replay/open understand. If prompted to connect it to a computer, you can do so very easily: 1. Right-click on the desktop and create a folder called "Recordings" (optional). 2. Connect the USB cable that came with the recorder to the recorder and computer. If a popup appears asking where to save/play and YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND IT, just press X to exit3. From the main screen of the desktop, click "Start" -> "Computer" to open the "Computer" folder. Locate "VN-722PC" in the "Devices with Removable Storage" section.4. Double click on it. When the folder appears, simply double-click the folder you recorded into (labeled "Folder A" if you've never used the FOLDER INDEX tab, otherwise click the appropriate folder B, C, D, or E).5. Highlight and drag the items from FOLDER A into the folder you created on your desktop. This will create a copy of it, which you can also listen to from your computer. Voila.6. To safely disconnect the voice recorder from your computer, click on the voice recorder icon in the lower right corner of the screen (next to the battery icon). A pop-up window should appear, click "Safely Remove VN-722PC". When it's safe to disconnect, another popup will say it's safe to do so. Turn it off now.------------------------------ For advanced users, this gives great melody when playing and static noise from Other recorders Generating during playback when recording too close to phones/external sources is fixed by using the phone option. You can rename as needed, upload footage to videos, upload directly to memory chips, etc. All in all very functional.
