Don't use internal storage on them!

This is the 12th recorder I have bought. All others were good, but I would caution against using the internal storage for any recordings on these devices. ONLY use a microSD card for recording as it can be easily removed for downloading to your computer. The problem with internal storage is that files that get corrupt are not transferred to your computer and are not archived. . The player's internal memory tells me the folder is full. But my computer tells me that the registrar folder is empty.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time

Not suitable for recording line to jack calls

I bought this unit specifically to record calls for an audio blog/podcast. To my dismay, I found that when recording, the recorder picks up background noise directly through the unit's line-in jack and amplifies it to a level that makes listening to the recorded conversation problematic. It generated very loud white noise, "hiss", static, and other background noise as loud as the recorded conversation. I've tried various input methods, including the Hello Direct media interface, connecting…

4G internal, 32G optional microSD card

Olympus VN-722PC Review This full featured Olympus voice recorder came in perfect condition with two alkaline batteries. It's easy to hold and feels durable. I look forward to using it and telling you more about it later. This is the second Olympus voice recorder I've bought after being happy with the previous model for several years. In the meantime, first impressions: the attached physical manual is not complete but points to a reliable version loaded into the 4GB of internal storage. The…

Easy for beginners. Usage:

This recorder is very easy to use. I recommend this voice recorder to my students for lectures, but I have found that someone who has never used it can get confused and only want to use it at a beginner level, so here is my "Easy 101" way to do it How to use: 1. Just turn it on by sliding the slide button on the left2. Press the red "REC" button to start recording3. When you've recorded what you like, press the square "STOP" button. Now you can safely turn it off after pressing the "Stop"…

I just got mine two days ago and I'm still happy with it

I just got mine two days ago and I'm still happy with it. I have been using small recorders - microcassette and digital - in research interviews for over 20 years and I have some unique needs. I need a voice recorder to easily transfer files to a PC, so playing a recording through the headphone jack to the PC's microphone jack is unacceptably slow. I need the recording to be audible enough for the transcription. And I want it to be compact, easy to use, and unobtrusive when I take it out of my…
