Review on Cuisinart 419 18P Contour Stainless Saucepan by Jeff Richardson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This is an addition to my collection, the main set of which I have owned since 2011.

So far so good, I've been using it for just over a month, the steel is high quality, I don't notice ANY difference in the quality of the steel from my set which I've been using since 2011. Those of you with watermarks and color changes aren't washing properly and are also using too much heat. All my pots and pans have been exposed to too much heat over the years and I've gotten some discoloration on the steel as a result, but it looks cool. There is a frying pan, so the heat distribution is normal. Perfect for searing a pound of bacon, this skillet can lay out strips beautifully and flip them over with ease thanks to its low sides and 12-inch see-through surface. The same goes for searing other meats like pork shoulder or loin before slow cooking. Like the set, this pan is made of high-quality stainless steel, so it won't rust no matter how long you sit in the water or leave it salty. However, they are a little tricky to clean if you accidentally mess up the cooking temperature, as steel cookware requires a very precise temperature and the use of oil to maintain a 'non-stick' situation, the slightest mishap leads to caking of burnt crap stuck to the steel. Just pour in some water and lots of dish soap and put back on the stovetop until it boils, it will emulsify the shit and it will come out MUCH easier than using a scrubbing brush and other harsh chemicals. As for versatility. You can easily cook pancakes, pancakes, omelettes in this pan (with the right oil and temperature, of course). You can also cook up some big steaks in it if you don't feel like grilling! Frying is fairly easy as it's large and open, able to grab the meat from any direction and turn/turn as needed without getting too close to the burner or hot edges. I've cooked bacon, pancakes, pork chops, and Italian sausage in this pan for the past month so far. I'll be back in a few months with an update to see if further cooking leads to any negative aspects of the pan such as smearing. B. bad steel bags (which should have shown up by now but didn't). The image uploaded is of a frying pan and its 8 year old 10 inch cousin for comparison of what to expect after almost a decade of use! Note: I don't clean my pans or use the bartender's friend. It's just a damn steel pan. , use it for cooking, not your Pinterest account.
