This is great, outdoor IP cameras were $700 10 years ago. These are good devices, I picked them up on Synology, they work great, much cheaper than my first video surveillance system ten years ago! in the center of the frame, but the outer peripheral view is still poorly lit. If you install them directly in inclement weather, you'll get nothing but StarWars flares from IR LEDs bouncing off the rain. Installing under the eaves on the ceiling allows you to get better shots. A NOTICE. This RLC-420 model doesn't have the same wide camera view as the RLC-410, I prefer 410 frames over 420, both advertised as 80Β°. viewing angles, but the RLC-410 appears wider with no fisheye distortion. Unfortunately the 410 is a bullet style camera (not a dome cam like the 420), any baseball will throw the bullwt style 410 out of line whatever you want to capture for security reasons. While the dome on these 420s is more tamper resistant in some styles, QUALITY WARNING, the adjustment stop screw is not stainless steel, it's simply painted black. I have 1 camera that is not weatherproof and after 2 weeks the screw starts to rust. I'll probably remove one and go to a hardware store to find a stainless steel replacement, in a year that screw will be too rusty to ever adjust or service this camera. All my other cameras are mounted under a cornice on the ceiling for better protection and will likely last longer without direct exposure to the elements.
