They are suitable if you are looking for a genuine OEM replacement but not "sporty " suspensions.

Shocks to replace the stock shocks in my '97 Cougar 30th Anniversary Edition, mainly because my experience with them in the past has been that the KYB is a 'sporty' shock. be a good substitute. no They are significantly softer than the 16-year-old originals. When I replace all of the bushings in the independent rear suspension, which will happen in the next few months, I will be looking for either genuine original "sport" shock absorbers or another aftermarket brand. just in case" .
