Almost exact replacement, works very well
VW electric windows are notorious for breaking in the rain due to age or constant moisture from open windows. If you have problems with VW windows, I would first replace the switch, it's easy and cheap with this switch from Switchdoctor. No need to remove the door panel, just pull out the switch panel and remove the switch from the back. Lots of online help. This switch lacked a chrome finish and lacked the initial "latch" feel of driving to control non-express driving. I quickly customized for 1/3 the price of a VW part.
