Review on 🔒 CargoBuckle F18800 G3 Retractable Ratchet Tie-Down System, 2-Pack - Secure Your Cargo with Ease! by Rick Rownd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice but not great.

The range of movement of the ratchet is very limited, making it difficult to use. let me explain. The ratchet handle is either in the open position, which allows the strap to unwind, or in the locked position, where you must place the handle once you have tightened the load. In between is a free play area where you tighten the belt tighter (think a socket wrench and how it wobbles). Vibration of two teeth can occur in this area. That is not enough. The ratchet handle keeps getting stuck in one of two end positions, requiring you to use two hands to loosen it and return to the ratcheting area. The thickness of the steel on the side panels doesn't impress me too much. I don't think they will ever fail, but there is cause for concern. The strap material is excellent as is the hook. This is a great idea, but it can be improved. I like her. After reading other people's reviews I wanted to add a few small things, good and bad. I bought an MC trailer (The Ultimate Trailer) that already had three CargoBuckles attached. They were totally sun worn and looking unreliable so I bought 4 more not knowing what the history of the originals was. After seeing how badly the originals had weathered, I installed E-Track and added E-Track CargoBucklt adapters to the setup. This way when I put the bike off the trailer I can remove the Condor SC 2000 chocks and CargoBuckle ratchet and secure them in the car while I'm out for a few days. This protects them from the elements and should help them last a long time. This increased installation costs but added flexibility, durability and security.

Pros
  • Anti-corrosion design
Cons
  • Functionality
