These are solid instruments that are easy to hold and have a strong feel. However, they are not very sophisticated or elegant. For the most part, this is an acceptable formula for pliers. I mean, most of the time you're just pulling or twisting things with brute force. On the other hand, a tool's longevity and frustration can often be predicted by its sophistication. While good instruments are satisfying, perfect instruments (which are also hearty) are far better. You can tell these imperfections, for example, by the fact that the two sides of the heads are not aligned and do not fit together perfectly, nor do the bottom gripping parts of the tools. The lower jaw of the adjustable pliers cannot be the same size as the top jaw, as would be ideal. Where the rounded parts of the instruments meet (moving over each other when closed or open) you can see that they are not perfectly symmetrical. The side cutters cut well, but the end faces are not smooth and develop burrs in the next few weeks. The two handles are the same size and may or may not be. It's okay, but you're definitely licking extra superglue. And that's the part that worries me. If the handles ever come off, they're useless (I have a pair of pliers whose flimsy rubber handles keep slipping off and are terribly annoying). But now the grips feel great. Suitcase.
