Instruction says it's for cement ceiling or wood ceiling. (Which is not in the descriptions before purchase!). I have a new house with a metal frame drywall ceiling and you need to use a ceiling fan box to mount it. The included bracket is too big for a 4 inch ceiling fan. We had to get a smaller mounting bracket to fit a 4" ceiling unit sold online instead of in stores. The company refunded us for buying the mount. Then when we received the mount it took 3 hours and 3 people to figure out the very vague instructions. FYI, the led box has magnets on the corner, in order for the led box to fit in the middle you need to remove the backing, the thread that comes out of the middle with the wires is too long, you also need the insert wire so you can't see them. MUCH LUCK! We LOVE the fan. That works great. Looks great, but installation is difficult.
