I bought this putty because our Cranium game comes with Play-Doh putty that crumbles into dust once you open it. pleasant vanilla aroma. An unexpected but nice bonus. It is quite hard when cold, but quickly softens and becomes more pliable after processing. Clay is mineral based but also contains petroleum additives so water is not needed to prevent drying out. 2 pounds isn't much so pay attention to the measurements (3" x 5" x 2.5") and I would only buy what you need, even if it doesn't dry out. It leaves a greasy shine on surfaces , but I've found it comes off easily with soap and water.
