I'm a photographer and I'm looking for a way to replace backlit customer CDs. I heard about printable CDs, so I bought an Epson Artisan 835 All-In-One Color Inkjet Printer (C11CA73201) and did a test print on the Memorex CD that came in the box. I wasn't very impressed with the looks, so I searched the internet for a glossy printable CD and came across the Taiyo Yuden Watershield DVD-R. It was expensive, but compared to online CD printing, the cost wasn't that high. After actually printing to DVD and comparing it to Memorex, there was no comparison as to which was better. Colors were vibrant and text was clear. The Memorex CD looked bland and cheap while the Taiyo Yuden DVD looked professional. My only concern is that it scratches easily, but perhaps because I was too eager to test it I didn't give it much time to dry. Compared to backlit CDs, they look a lot more professional and are definitely worth the price.
