Review on πŸͺ΅ Woodstock D3831: High-Performance Adjustable Block Plane with 1-3/8-Inch Blade by Emanuel Guffey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A pretty good buy - my new review

This is an Indian knock off of Lie Nielsen's 60 1/2 block plane. It's actually not a bad plane. It is quite heavy for a plane this size due to the bronze cap iron. The soul on mine needed some work and the blade has considerable tool marks. The blade will eventually be replaced with one from Lee Valley. Other than that, the machining was generally good and it functioned smoothly.

Pros
  • The Woodstock D3831 is highly versatile and can be used on a wide range of different materials, making it a valuable addition to any woodworking kit
Cons
  • The blade may be difficult to remove for cleaning or sharpening
