My latch broke and I had to fix it. I found and bought it on Amazon. You will need a 10mm socket, ratchet and flathead screwdriver, tape/marker. After removing the trunk lining, unscrew the two screws by 10 mm. durable plastic clip. You will use your flathead screwdriver to remove the rod before you can remove the old latch with the black plastic clip. Comparing the two, there are hardly any physical differences. Save the black clip (you will need it, don't throw it away). Transfer the black plastic clip. Then insert and secure. Do the same after threading the pole back to where it was executed. The same goes for the yellow clip. ATTENTION: The rod has two ends at a 90 degree angle. Mark or tape the one that leads to the locking mechanism to remind you of the right end of the bar. I've had 2 failed latch closures (on isolated occasions) in the past 7 days since installation. It was 40 degrees. After the second close it worked. You pay the dealer for the amount. It's several times cheaper.
