Huddly Cam for SMB video conferencing with Zoom is awesome!

For the price, size and quality you won't find anything better. I work as an IT administrator in a fast growing startup with about 200 employees. I came from a Cisco telepresence store and came to a company that didn't have video conferencing facilities but did have a zoom room. I have been tasked with improving collaboration with remote workers and our newly acquired nationwide office. Logitech's PTZ cameras are amazing, but they cost over $799 and will most likely be discontinued, but their new Rally Cam. Both options are great, but it takes effort to screw the mount on, making sure it's level, and the price is a bit higher for using it in 20+ conference rooms. it reminded me of GoPro for conference rooms. I also like that they're startups because that means the support is usually pretty solid. If you have problems with Logitech cameras, you have to contact their support, which is not the best. The camera arrived at my office and I set up Zoom Room with it in 15 minutes. That's all. I simply placed the Mac Mini on the back of the TV, plugged in the mic cable, and placed the Huddly camera on top of the TV, and within moments, a fully functional Zoom Room was set up for staff to run quality events and sessions . I'll admit if you're used to the image quality of a Logitech PTZ or Aver you'll be a little disappointed, but it really doesn't matter as the quality is still much better than a small webcam. I installed them in an 8 person room with a long table and it wasn't too bad, but from now on I will only use them in rooms for 5 people or less (hence their name "huddle" haha).

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Out of fashion
