This basswood is terrible.
I have not carved the walnut or cherry, but the basswood splits on the littlest of knife pulls. There are quite a few knots in the blank. I’d use these for beginners to get a feel for carving, but I wouldn’t buy the basswood expecting to keep any useable item.
- Created a spoon out of the basswood blank. Haven’t used the other ones yet. Keep your knife sharp.
- Ordered spoon blanks twice. Both times one of the blanks was cracked.
