Review on Inkbird Digital Outlet Heat Temperature Controller for Brewing Aquarium Breeding Reptiles Hatching Heat Mat with Day/Night Control by Vincent Burton

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Model with a new aquarium temperature sensor - so far so good.

Like many customers, I bought this new version of the 306T because I don't trust the thermometer on my heater. I really like the big red digital display that shows the current temperature throughout the room at a glance. The Inkbird website does not yet have any information about this new 306T variant. The photos in the listing show the only difference I can see: an all-plastic sealed temperature sensor that's said to be more waterproof than a metal-tipped sensor. I see that thermometer failure, while not common, is an issue on some 306T models and I hope this resolves the issue. If this is not the case, I will revise my rating. A few things I didn't know: 1st, most accurate setting +/- 1 degree. So if I set the average temperature to 79 degrees, my heater would turn on at 78 and off at 80. I think that's ok. Other controllers might be more accurate, but then they turn on and off much more often. Also, unlike some models, none of the 306T versions have an interchangeable thermometer. It is permanently fixed. I was hoping that this aquarium version could come with a suction cup to attach it to the fish tank. It is not. However, I am very happy with the price and it seems to be very well made. The assembly was easy for me with the instructions that came with it.
