My First Oil Diffuser and I Love it--Some tips for first time users

I'll start with few things I figured out from trial-and-error because I'm clueless:To Open the Lid:Do NOT force it downwards, this will wedge it into place and make it almost impossible to remove. When putting the lid on you should not need any downward pressure, just gently twist left until it naturally falls all the way down. Once it's touching the bottom turn left again and it should click into place. To open twist right, it will click and you can lift the lid effortlessly. If you meet resistance when twisting try changing direction or lifting. Basically once you see how it's SUPPOSED to go on it will be effortless every time.If you want it lit up but it feels too bright, try tapping the light button until it turns red. The red light is the gentlest.I suggest using a water bottle for easy filling. Using the sink or a cup may let water slosh down the sides and could wet the cord/plugin/fan on the bottom. (I don't know how waterproof they are but I don't want to chance it)When you insert the power cord check for the little hook and indentation on the bottom. These keep the wire in place so the bottom lays flat; it will sit lopsided and be wobbly otherwise.Experiment with the amount of oil. If your oil bottles dribble like mine it's better to pay attention to the amount of oil floating on the water instead of counting droplets. Too much oil will result in a medicine smell.Don't power it on with the lid off, it will spit water everywhere.I got this for Christmas and have currently had it about a month. I asked for it on a whim but I absolutely love having my room smell like citrus or flowers every day. I've never used a diffuser before this, but I love how the scent is light and clean instead of being perfume-y. In a smallish bedroom I can run it from full to empty and have the scent last one or two days.My only complaint lies not with the product but the "manual" it comes with, which is just a folded slip of paper with two diagrams and some poorly translated text. It says nothing about how to secure the lid and doing it wrong gets it VERY stuck, enough that prying it off can cause damage. I started to think I had a faulty product before realizing I was not doing things correctly. I have not had an issue since and am now thrilled with my little diffuser :)

Pros
  • Alternative Medicine
Cons
  • The diffuser may not be the best option for those sensitive to strong scents
