I have several years experience as a certified TIG, MIG and Arc welder when I was in the Boilermaking trade was . I bought a new Forney 140 FC-i MIG welder and this wire to do repairs and projects around the house and maybe a part time job. I know from experience that MIG welding can be a little tricky, and I made some serious effort with this setup to try and make satisfactory welds on some 1/4" plates before wanting to proceed with the project. No matter what my machine was made of or all metal, I couldn't produce a consistently smooth and stable arc with this wire, which of course was quite frustrating, so I bought another brand of wire, named after a famous president, from my local big box gear . Surprisingly, it was like the difference between day and night. The arc was so subdued and matched with another brand of wire that I realized it wasn't because I hadn't traded in a couple of years, but rather Forney MIG junk. I will definitely not buy or recommend this wire again.
