Forney 42300 Steel E71TGS 030 Diameter 2 Pound Review

Wow, I've used Blue Demon and Harbor FT wire and it's much better, welds come out much better and there is less spatter. I will buy again. The best value for money in my opinion.

I read some bad reviews about this product but decided to buy it anyway. I've found that you have to start with very clean materials for wire to work properly or you end up with pretty crappy welds.

Works well with a 110V 90Amp welder I'm not a professional welder by trade, but I can get into welding. This wire works well when you're in a pinch and don't have a can of MIG gas handy. Finding heat and speed is key, as is metal prep.

I have no reason to give less than 5 stars. This core is very good. Remember that with a flux core you must clean the surface before welding and continue welding until it is complete. You will always see a good seam.

Exterior body work is great. An attempt was made to use a standard solid core with gas but the gas was blown away by the wind and the welds suffered but not with this material. The turns are good and you can go straight without any problems. It's a tone or two lighter than a solid core with gas, but that's not a problem, just something to keep in mind when striking an arc for the first time.

I bought a new Forney Inverter welder to upgrade my trusty old Clarke welder. I bought this spool of wire for a new welder and almost returned it because I couldn't get a good weld. But then I tried putting the wire from my old welder into the new Forney and it worked. I used INETUB until I found it online for about the same price and as I had a Forney welder I thought it would be a good idea to try it and thought it was just as good or even better than the INETUB BA71TGS .030 I used. Wow I was impressed with the excellent price. The advantages of this material are smooth, moderate amount of spatter, already very little, burns hot. Cons, it lays down a lot of material quickly and burns pretty hard. I had to reset the welder settings more than expected. This gives good penetration but can easily burn out.
