My cat took it off in minutes. If you haven't worn your cat a collar since she was a child, don't even try. Our cat was constantly bringing birds into our house, sometimes dead and sometimes not. I wanted it to have a bell on it to warn the birds. Vain. Perhaps those who have always collared their cats could use this collar, but it seems very easy to remove (I understand not wanting to choke or pinch it - it definitely does). It didn't work for us.
