This is very practical when repairing small electronics or when soldering. Magnetic areas keep all screws and small metal parts in one place. Raised outer edges prevent objects from rolling away. The small gathering areas are great for tracking down screws and other things. The tweezers that come with it are actually good quality. Tightens small screws perfectly. ESD is fine. A clear plus is that the repair mat can simply be rolled up and stowed on the shelf when not in use. quality silicone; must be heat resistant. The downside is that the repair mat attracts pet hair like crazy, so don't leave it around pets unless you're actively using it. I recommend.
