and every time I found another set that I would have liked, it had really bad reviews or something.

I would like to start by saying that I was not paid for this review and I spent my hard earned money to purchase this stainless steel set. I did a lot of research and comparison before deciding on this set and every time I found another set that I liked it had really negative reviews or something I didn't like. I ended up spending a little more than I planned, but I'm very happy with the set I bought! Why I chose the OXO brand: 1) The aluminum core extends to the sides. A lot of the other kits I looked at only had the aluminum core on the bottom. 2) Pouring without dripping. 3) Measurements in the pots. 4) glass lid! There were other really good sets but they had stainless steel lids so you couldn't see what was going on! 5) pan dimensions. This set includes all the standard sizes you need and the lids are interchangeable! 6) Cool touch pens. 7) Great reviews for this OXO product and most other OXO products. Like I said, this was the only set I could find that had all the 'perks' I was looking for and great reviews. I always like to look at the worst reviews to see what people really think of a product and many other brands had lots of good reviews but the bad ones put me off. I wanted to wait and use the pans before giving them my opinion and I've used almost all of them so far. The first thing I cooked were eggs in a small pan and had no issues sticking. I've also made grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken breasts, a hamburger, cooked pasta, and soup in a small pot. I had no problems with sticking at all. Please note that I tried to follow the directions (i.e. heat the pan first and make sure the oil is hot!). Cleaning: Cleaning the set was relatively easy. The only thing that catches my eye is that when the chicken was cooked in one of the pans, a white precipitate remained, which I could not remove with just water and dawn. I didn't find this alarming or surprising as I read during my research that certain water can stain and you may need to boil the vinegar or use The Bartender's Friend for stubborn stains. When I bought this set I also bought "The Bartender's Friend" and I used it on stains and they came out right away. In addition, it is very important not to use too high a temperature, otherwise you will get a lot of stains. I also advise you to be very careful with the sponge you use. As if you read the fine print, most of them are not suitable for stainless steel. I found one made by Scotch-Brite that is safe for these pots and pans and it really helped. Sorry for all the details, but I know when I'm buying such a large investment that I want to know everything I can. I am delighted with this set and it is a really well designed customer friendly stainless steel cookware set. It's great when you take it out of the box and a real joy to cook. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions.
