What I love most about these inline skates is that they are adjustable in size. I got these skates for my 5 year old and when I was looking at the skates I wasn't sure what size would fit his foot best. When he first tried skating, he fell often and had trouble standing, let alone skating. I'm not sure if he's ready to use skates yet. The good thing is that the skates are adjustable in size. So if he doesn't start skating right away, he has an opportunity to use them later. The buckle system makes the skates on and off much easier than laces and hopefully more durable than velcro. To loosen, simply pull the buckle and it releases the laces tightening the buckle, and to tighten, simply push the buckle to hook and rotate the handle. The wheels light up as they spin, which is cool, and while small wheels have more rolling resistance the lower the ground, the better for beginners or young children to learn and practice skating. The smallest setting worked well for my son who wears size 11T shoes.
