You may have better luck but I say look elsewhere

This blade was used with a wet tile cutter to cut and shape rough gemstones. When first used on a piece of amethyst, the blade immediately lost all diamonds and became dull and ineffective. My saw got very hot, much faster than usual, and the amethyst I was trying to cut just bounced off the blade and got hot too, but didn't cut at all. It's a ski saw, so not necessarily the best tool in the brand, but still a good one. It might have had more to do with the way the ski saw was set up and not the blade itself, but since I made sure this blade was the same diameter and shaft before I bought it, I don't think so it has been a machine since the original blade is fine and has survived several projects before coming to the same point as this saw blade. Unfortunately, I still tried to force it in disbelief, assuming that it was still user error and it resulted in the most valuable piece of amethyst being chipped rather than cleanly cut and thereafter unrecoverable and usable. Very disappointed as it was one of the most expensive blade options I looked at and bought because it had cool graphics, it was a bit thinner than my previous blade so the kerf was smaller and it felt like it would fit. a much better job than it was. On the other hand, I bought some Dremel diamond (flex shaft) discs and they worked PHENOMENALLY. I was able to finish the job with a Dremel saw blade that probably cost less than $3 individually as opposed to the $30 for this blade that didn't even go through a rock. I think from now on, or at least for some time, I will continue to use Dremel saw blades for my work until I get a much better spreader saw.
