Review on πŸ’‘ Enhance Your Lighting Experience with Armacost Lighting 523420 Wireless Controller by Travis Oetting

They fail due to Armacost misinformation

I went through 2 of these, each of which failed within a day. Armacost recommended purchasing a 24 watt driver with a 98 inch color changing light bar with this remote control. They don't say that the 24 watt driver will turn off the remote if you use a shorter piece of light strip. I cut my strip in half for a short dry strip. I used the other half to light up the ceiling above the dry plank. For this half I got an 8 watt driver. Guess what. The 8 watt driver and remote control have never let me down. The 24 watt driver disabled 2 remotes. I bought another 8 watt driver here on Amazon and had no problems with the third remote I got. The reason I don't give 5 stars is the lack of pre-purchase information. They should tell you what driver size to use with how many feet of light strips. Apparently it is assumed that in all cases the entire length of the light band is used. Apparently not, otherwise there wouldn't be so many people who would have given up remote power sources so quickly. From my research, a driver with less wattage than you need may not light your headlights at full brightness. And a driver with too much power will cause the LEDs to not last as long as they should - burn out prematurely. I didn't notice any light dimming with the 8 watt driver. If you're running a full 8ft of color changing lights I would go down to at least a 20 watt driver. 24 watts is probably too much. If you're only using a 3 or 4 foot light, try an 8 watt driver.
