There is currently no other stand on the market that is not made of plastic or wood and could possibly scratch your unicycle slightly, probably already badly scratched ) . So this stand packs a punch and fits and works well. However, the foam is not dense at all and can easily be dented/scratched with a fingernail. I have doubts about the durability. I wish it was a denser rubber material that, while not scratchy, feels more like a quality block with some weight. Unfortunately I returned this unit due to the high price compared to the quality of the part.
