Doesn't work very well on its own but parts of it improve another mount

I just bought a 2020 Toyota Landcruiser that has vertical air vents next to an outdated navigation system. Therefore, to install the phone as a navigation aid, I couldn't decide between two products: One, the DesertWest car phone mount, the air vent phone car mount, the Easy One Touch cell phone car mount that came with the iPhone 11 Max Pro X compatible is XSmax. XR 8 7 6+, Samsung Galaxy S20 S10 S10+ S10e S9 S8 S7 and others, and the other is a car phone holder, universal car fan with adjustable bracket, compatible with iPhone 11 Pro Max XS XS Max XR X 8 8+ 7 7+ SE 6s 6+ 6 5s Samsung Galaxy S10 S9 S8 S7 and others (black) It turned out that the most functional solution took half of one product and half of the other. The DesertWest phone mount in particular comes with two different mounts, although only one is shown in the description. The one in the photo has a clip and two stabilizers underneath. This might work well for horizontal vents, but not at all for vertical vents. The reason is that anti-roll bars can slip, and in turns. But the other mount that comes with the DesertWest phone is much better for vertical vents. This is a pair of handles attached to the air vent. That alone would be unstable. But the best thing is that these handles have two medium-sized lugs on either side of the handles that prevent the blinds from changing direction when turning, which is ideal because then everything is stable. What I didn't like about DesertWest. The phone mount has the release button on the left side, which is inconvenient when it's next to the steering wheel. The other one I ordered (phone mount...) has a phone mount with a release button on the right side, which is much easier to use. I suppose if you were to attach the DesertWest mount to the air vent on the left side of the steering wheel that arrangement would be advantageous. only one. Luckily, the size and style of the ball and nut handles are the same on both mounts. The problem with the cranks is that the tensioning function isn't a screw, it's a cam mechanism with three levels of compression. This cam action only prevents the vertical blinds from moving in one direction and not the other, so you can only turn your car one way if you want to keep a cell phone in place with this mount. The DesertWest mount design has a symmetrical wheel and medium sized ears are placed on both sides to provide cornering stability, unlike a car phone mount. Bottom line for me is the DesertWest, but by swapping out a few parts from the Mototo phone holder you get a great phone holder that works well on vertical air vents.
