I bought these and paired them with Smartthings water sensors. This pairing allows my smart home to turn off the main water valve when a leak is detected. Everything checked before installation, the valve works. It actually takes about 2-3 seconds to close the valve, but detection was almost instantaneous. I used this on my water main and installed it myself. That's when the "fun" started. In theory, the installation should have taken less than an hour, but it didn't happen. After installation on the Pex line, the fittings were leaking at every thread. It seems this is because the themes don't match. The resulting transverse seam worked with silicone tape. I've been monitoring it for almost a week and no leaks. I don't know, maybe it's the shark attachments on this device. I would like to believe it was this thread as both bite fittings leaked after installation. Perhaps the manufacturer could supply bite fittings instead of threads, which could be an option for customers.
