My meat thermometer stopped working and Thanksgiving is coming up and I knew I needed a new one before trying my first turkey. This is a simple thermometer compared to my past. When I received it it was more than half charged so I could use it for dinner. Regular length cable, shorter than my previous one. The screen is digital and can easily be changed depending on the type of meat you are preparing. One thing my last one did that this one doesn't have is an estimated cooking time. I would really like that for my thermometer. Otherwise I liked the simplicity. When the meat has reached the right temperature, he will let you know and then offer to simmer some more. This works for my needs, usually it's steak and this month it's turkey.
