I have used these filters in my cars for years and they are exceptional. (One car is 2000 and the other is '98) Upon inspection the anti-dump valve seems to be well done and I can see that there is a working bypass valve on the other end of the oil hose. . The base is a solid piece of machined metal. No need to go crazy with wrist torque when screwing this in as the base sits right on top of the filter housing with no issues. One day I wanted to cut one up to get a better look at the material and design of the filter. Well I've found that there is a fair amount of strong metal that needs to be drilled through and I'm tired of trying to saw through it all. Let's just say it's an essential filter. I have received the expected Mobil filters in retail packaging and have confidence in them. It seems like money well spent, even if it costs more than cheap brands. Maybe I'm spending too much money, but the trust is worth it to me. I never had any
