4k - CheckIPS - Check120-hz - CheckG-Sync - Check You would be surprised how difficult it is to test these 4 specs above without paying an obscene amount. The monitor market is quite expensive right now with the release of Nvidia 30 series cards. 4k 120hz is now a reality. This monitor costs $700, but you'll have a hard time finding a new one at this price point. I went from 1440p 144hz (TN panel) to this monitor and the difference is between day and night. Once you get over 4k you won't go back. TN panels have good response times, but you can get similar response times with IPS panels and greatly improve color accuracy and image quality. The games I've played seem to have breathed new life into them. There are 3 different options for Acer Predator XB273K: Pbmiphzx, Sbmiprzx and Gpbmiipprzx. Pbmiphzx is the original with real G-sync engine. Sbmiprzx is an update of Pbmiphzx, also with a G-Sync module. Gpbmiipprzx (this monitor) is a cheaper option with the only difference being that it doesn't have a G-sync module but uses Freesync technology for G-sync compatibility. $1200 for Revane. Differences? This monitor is G-Sync compatible while the Sbmiprzx model has a true G-Sync module. G-Sync is Nvidia's proprietary technology that uses a variable refresh rate to prevent image tearing. Do a little G-Sync research and you'll have a seamless experience with a G-Sync module or G-Sync compatible monitor. With my current settings, I haven't experienced any tearing across a variety of games on this monitor. If G-Sync's main goal is to eliminate screen tearing, then this cheaper model can easily achieve that. Otherwise there are no significant differences between the two models. If a dedicated G-Sync module costs you $400 more, be my guest.
