It's important to note that this is no ordinary ribbon cable. Normal ribbon cables are not suitable for devices intended to be used as a HAT (found directly on the Raspberry Pi). If you use a regular ribbon cable, the display will not work because the pins on one side are opposite each other. It's hard to explain, but just know that this cable is ideal for connecting a device to be used as a HAT.
