Review on 🐾 Free-Standing Pet Gate by Four Paws: Walk-Over Convenience for Your Pets by Jackie Barker

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Slips on hardwood floor. Broke within a year.

Something like sticky gum is needed here. We have a chihuahua who is usually very afraid to run away. He is afraid of bags, boxes and child gates that we used. But since we did that he has no problem sticking his nose in the vertical slots/holes and shoving it out of the way. He's not the smartest of dogs, but he had the guts and intelligence to find out. Because we have hardwood floors, all of these gates can easily be pushed by a 9 pound dog. We even used the spacers provided to keep the gate from collapsing but that doesn't help. We still use them, but we needed to position the gate more securely so it couldn't be pushed out of the gate. Path. It's not entirely the gate's fault, but some good rubber feet will provide enough resistance I think to keep it from being pushed to one side. The included plastic parts are not up to the task. However, the gate is good and the quality of the wood is excellent. The height is almost perfect (2 inches shorter would be ideal as it would allow for easy kicking, but high enough that the dog doesn't try to jump over it). If you have a cat, you probably won't be enough. UPDATE: After 1 year of use, the thing fell apart. One of the gates came loose and the bar holding it broke. I wouldn't buy this again. I liked the quality of the wood. But the way they were built, it won't even take a year to move these gates.
