It's so nice to have extra accessories so you can keep cleaning when you feel like it! And it's better to change them more often if you collect as much dirt as I do. Tip: After the first wash they were soft and ready to use again, but quite smeared and dirty looking, so I rewashed and rubbed 3 ounces of liquid detergent directly onto the pads for the entire load (there was 6 pads total). The second time they came out very clean. They probably would have worked fine before, but it's nice to start with something that looks clean. They work just as well as the ones that come with the machine.
