Installed this actuator on my wife's 2008 Cadillac SRX tailgate. Removing the inner panels was a little tedious, but unscrewing the actuator and screwing on the new one is very easy. This is a reasonable do-it-yourself repair for most people with modest mechanical ability. The tools needed for my installation included a trim tool or large to medium (flat blade) screwdrivers, a #2 Phillips screwdriver, a T30 socket, and a 1/4-inch ratchet wrench. Delivery was quick and the item was packaged very well.
